Shoreline leisure Disability Mission Statement

We want everyone who visits Shoreline Leisure Bray to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding. To enable all visitors to have a positive experience and to be able to participate fully we have created the following commitment to address disability in its broadest sense. This is part of our commitment to provide equal opportunities to all.We pride ourselves on offering our customers a wide range of accessible facilities, we are continually looking at ways in which we can improve accessibility to provide inclusive areas and activities for all users.

It is the aim of Shoreline Leisure Bray to make our centre and all activities accessible to all members of the community. The management and staff strive to achieve an inclusive sports centre where all people of all ages and abilities are welcome.

Our sports centre aims to include all adults and children in every aspect of the centre’s programmes. When necessary, support and training is given to teachers or instructors to assist them to adapt classes to include all users. All staff are given in-service training and the option to participate on training courses.

We encourage young people with disabilities to participate in our activity camps and lessons and will adapt our structures and planning to include every child to the fullest if their ability.

  • Accessibility Policy

    Shoreline Leisure Bray is committed to the ongoing inclusion of all people with disabilities and the continuous development of the facility and services in order to achieve a fully inclusive centre.

    In order to achieve this shoreline leisure aims to:

    Train and educate staff as to the needs of people with a disability.

    Promote positive attitudes towards people with disabilities.

    Provide universal access to all areas of the centre

    Encourage the participation of people with disabilities in all the services available.

  • Carer’s policy

    In 2009 Shoreline Leisure Bray introduced a carer’s policy in order to meet the unique requirements of patrons who would be otherwise unable to avail of the centres facilities/services without the assistance of a carer.


    Our policy states that in the event of an individual(s) acting in their official role as a career, they are entitled to use the facilities/services free of charge. The user will then pay the normal admission price of an adult or child depending on their age.


    In order to administer the policy any individual(s) acting as a care must produce written confirmation/identification from their employer.

  • Physical Access Policy

    At Shoreline Leisure Bray, accessibility has been a priority from the design stage, developed in consultation with disability access groups. Our facility includes designated accessible parking, step-free access throughout, and push-button automatic doors.

    We offer a fully accessible environment with lifts, disability access gates, induction loop systems, and clear contrasting colour schemes to support ease of movement and visibility. Centre information and signage are available in Braille, with visual aids on gym equipment and alternative formats for health screening and exercise programmes.

    Our changing facilities include accessible toilets, showers, and changing areas, along with pool hoists, wet area wheelchairs, shallow pool entry with handrails, and emergency evacuation equipment to ensure safe and comfortable use for all members.
